"The older one gets, the more one feels that the present must be enjoyed; it is a precious gift, comparable to a state of grace."
Though I am not old, I am getting older. Old enough to look back and see many days.
I do value every day, and I dislike seeing each one flow through my hands so quickly.
Maybe I dislike that I can't be in three or four places at once, doing all of the things that fill me up, with all the people I love to be with.
Maybe I'm frustrated by my inability to keep to a schedule, a routine, with goals and lists and multiple check marks.
Maybe tapes of old inadequacies, courtesy of the Accuser, are playing in my head.
Whatever the problem is, this day remains a gift.
And as far as how to use it and find pleasure in it, I'm pretty sure I should go ask the Giver.
When troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow. . . . If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.--James 1:2-5

FOCUS FRIDAY means it's time to evaluate the week and plan for
the weekend. One quote, one Scripture, one post or article to help keep
attention on what's truly important!
What's your focus for Friday and the weekend?
Very inspiring! I love the bible quote. Just what I needed for today.
